KV-1S: stay near allied heavies rather than relying on armour.

IS-3: learn to hide the hull; a strong turret is not invulnerability.

What to research first

Check module dependencies in the client. Start with the gun if available; unlock the turret if the gun needs it. Research suspension if you lack load capacity, then the engine. Avoid spending Free XP on optional modules just to move up.

Common mistake

Angling the IS-7 hull like a box: its pike nose becomes more vulnerable.
